I recently finished the book Wild by Cheryl Strayed and was incredibly moved by it. The brutal honesty, the visceral descriptions of emotion, the amazing challenge she put herself through in an attempt to eradicate her demons.
One of my fave quotes from the book is as follows:
“It was my life—like all lives, mysterious and irrevocable and sacred. So very close, so very present, so very belonging to me. How wild it was, to let it be.”
To me this really means we must own our own lives no matter how wonderful, painful, messed up, glorious or not. warts and all. And know that it IS sacred. And that it belongs only to us, no matter what it seems like. There is such power in this.
When pursuing your dreams, deciding on a course of accepting yourself and your life as it is and using all of your many talents and everything that has brought you
here...
to this moment...
in this time...
in the place...
to its fullest potential, has this AMAZING ability to empower you to great heights.
Is this your year? I hope so. I'm here if you need me.
